You have to see this.
This is the shiite mosque that was distroyed this morning in Iraq. The mosque had been there since 944. The dome was built 101 years ago using 72,000 gold pieces. I don't know much about muslims, admitedly, but I do know that this is terribly, terribly sad for so many reasons. At least 130 people have died so far because of this.
I fricken hate it when people destroy gorgeous structures... nothing pisses me off faster. I mean, people are great too, but we're so finite. Structures like that, however, can teach us so much history and devotion and time. GRRRRRRRR.

If everyone practiced their beliefs, that they fight so hard to defend, things like this wouldn't happen.
