There's really no better way to start a three-day weekend than by taking your first trip to the E.R.
Don't get too excited--there was no real emergency. Guess who got a staph infection! Despite all odds, no, it isn't Tim. But because he's had them before, he rightfully insisted that I see a doctor ASAP and I took my first-ever trip to a hospital. I don't count the day I was born A) because I don't remember it and B) because technically I didn't check in... I only checked out--if you know what I mean.
Anyway, I'll spare you the details but three hours, some moderately painful prodding, and a couple of prescriptions later, I'm home and using this as an excuse to be utterly lazy and worthless. And I cannot believe I got a freaking staph infection. Even though hundreds of thousands of people get them all the time.... I feel pretty much contaminated and disgusting.
I guess I'm sharing all this because... well, if you're Saturday wasn't that great, at least you aren't contaminated and disgusting. Now go wash your hands.
What happened?? You havent been trying on tim's shoes have you? (just kidding, tim)
ReplyDeleteGet better, and take all of your antibiotics even if you feel better
I don't even know how that happens....but do take all of the antibiotics....I think I will wash my hands now...but just so you know...even if you were a lepar, I don't think I could ever consider you contaminated and disgusting....I just probably would not visit as often.
ReplyDeleteI will DEFINITELY take all my antibiotics. No worries. I've had a lot of disgusting injuries before, but this one is by far the worst and since going to the ER (where something like 8 out 10 people get their staph infections in the first place) it's gotten WORSE--if you like the sensation of throwing up in your mouth just a little bit, call me and I'll tell you all about this lovely experience.
ReplyDeleteBut at least I have an excuse for laying on the couch and playing Paper Mario ALL DAY.
What, no photo?
ReplyDeleteJe vous plea, ettreu donda esta un compartriere engliesse, oui?
get well soon! mon friare!
ReplyDeleteOh, well. And you don't call your mother and let her KNOW!?!?!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteWe went sledding at Uncle John and Aunt Pat's and we were riding the inner tube and hit the "ramp" and Auntie Sara and I both went flying off and landed very hard on our a**ses. While neither one of us ended up in the ER, we are both in pain (in the a**ses). I guess that doesn't compare to going to the ER though. Did you get stitches? hmmmmmm?!?!?!?!?
Actually when you stood at the bottom of the hill and watched other people fly off the inner tube as they went over the ramp, it was hilarious, and very rightly looked like fun (which it was).
Keep your infection clean and I'll call you soon. I don't know when since I am working when you are not but, I will.
Staph kills, so please, please, please be careful!!!!
Love,
Me
